Gallbladder Surgery
Professor Sheen is an experienced liver, pancreas and gallbladder (HPB) surgeon. He has extensive experience in undertaking keyhole surgery to remove gallbladders which have gallstones. Gallstones largely cause no symptoms but can cause painful abdominal episodes known as biliary colic, lead to an infection known as cholecystitis, may cause pancreatitis as well as in some cases cause jaundice, with yellow discolouration of skin in addition to pale stools and dark urine. Professor Sheen has been a consultant since 2005 and undertaken over 2500 keyhole operations for gallbladder disease. He also super specialises in the treatment of gallbladder cancers although these are very rare.
